The beginnings of what is now the company, Zwilling J..A. Henckels, was in 1731 in Solingen, Germany. The trademark symbol of this knife making company is the “TWIN” symbol. It is an old trademark well known in most countries of the world. To his credit is the introduction of the serrated utility knife, santoku kinife, and perma-edge bread knife to the United States. The J.A. Henckels’ name is associated with quality standards in each piece manufactured.
